We love buying Vinyl Records. We will happily look at any collection of records that you bring to our main shop in Burbage, Leicestershire. Please give us a call in advance to ensure that we can meet you - and always check our opening times before setting out. We are also happy to travel Locally and Nationally to see interesting collections of around 250 records or more. The largest collection we’ve bought to date contained 3,000+ records - but we are equally happy looking at much smaller collections. Genuinely, whatever you’ve got for sale, when it comes to Vinyl we love to see it.

Things it helps us to know when we speak:

  • Roughly how many records are you hoping to sell?

  • Are you selling Albums - or a mix of Albums and Singles (7" and 12")?

  • Is everything on Vinyl - or is it a mix of Vinyl, CD and Cassettes?

  • What condition are the records in? Are there any obvious damages or condition issues (eg: scratched or warped vinyl, poor condition sleeves)? Don’t worry if you don’t know - we aim to check all records before making an offer

  • What are you selling?

    •  Artists (eg: The Beatles, Madonna, Fleetwood Mac, Kate Bush etc)

    •  Genres (Classic Rock, Pop, Jazz, Country etc)

    •  Age (eg: Mainly 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s - or a mix 1970s and 1980s?)

  • Do you have a price in mind?

  • Please only bring records that you are genuinely interested in selling and have permission to do so - thank you!

How do we price the records you're selling?

We pride ourselves on fairness and transparency. Put simply, the price we offer is based on what we expect to sell them for. Our offer is typically one-third to half of the selling price, dependent on: condition, saleability and current stock. We also use our experience of which records our customers like to buy and, equally importantly, what they don't.

Please note: We cannot make an offer over the phone or provide a guide price without seeing the records in person. However, by letting us know the types of artists and quantity of records you’re selling we’ll be able to let you know if it’s the kind of thing we buy.

What if you genuinely don't know what you've got?

No problem. Feel free to send us a few photos or a short video showing of quick flick-through of the records you’re selling.

Things we're always keen to see:

  • Condition - This is one of the most important things we look for. We aim to sell good quality records that sound great. This is what our customers are looking for and our business continues to focus on

  • Popular Artists - This can be quite subjective, but we have a good idea of what sells well in our shop

  • Quality Collections - Good quantities of specific Artists, Complete Discographies or Popular Genres (eg: David Bowie, The Smiths, 1980s Pop, Northern Soul etc)

  • Rarities - Genuinely rare, desirable or interesting records are always of interest to us

Things we're less keen on:

  • We don't tend to buy many Classical or Easy Listening records (the majority of our customers don't seem to be keen on them - we've tried!)

  • We don't tend to buy 78 RPM records

  • Please Note: If you sell us a mixed collection of records - some saleable, some with little or no value - we will happily advise on the best way to deal with the surplus. We donate records to local charities and also have a FREE box outside the shop

If your records aren't quite what we're looking for we will always provide friendly advice on the best options

IMPORTANT - WE DO NOT ACCEPT RECORDS OR COLLECTIONS SENT TO US FOR PRICING BY POST, COURIER OR ANY OTHER THIRD PARTY AND ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSSES OR DAMAGES THAT MAY OCCUR AS A RESULT. WE WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF RETURNING ANY ITEMS THAT ARE SENT TO US IN THIS WAY.
